Kitchen Remodel Cost - Cabinets and Countertop
l have a 21 year old house in San Diego & am trying to get no more than a
ball park estimate in resurfacing my cabinets (13 draws, 27 doors) and
about 60 feet of countertops. l would like to do granite countertop and
some cabinetry in the mid-level price range. What should l expect
materials and installation to cost. l like the idea of staying away
from Home Depot on a remodel this size. l would now consider looking at an
established licensed remodeling contractor whose quality and price might allow me to stay within my budget and perhaps resurface an old brick fireplace. l have seen some nice resurfaced fireplaces on line.Granite countertops, mid-level cabinetry and fireplace - do you think l could do all this and stay around $20,000?
Refacing kitchen cabinets ranges from $3K to $5K depending on
ur selections of woods & hardwares; granite averages $50.00 per foot & I
suggest you look at SileStone within ur choice of stone tops; SileStone is
comparable in price & you will have more of selection in colorand pattern,
much more it is ultra durable & simply a better top than granite.
SileStone is quartz & an epoxy resin mixture that feels & looks like
granite or stone. I strongly suggest that you stay away from Sears, Home Depot or Lowe is installation services when considering professional tradesmen. These outfits simply sub out the work to local trades & mark up the costs approx. 25%; besides, you can get better quality by hiring a local cabinet maker, finish carpenter or cabinet shop. You need to check out several home stores and get some
estimates.
Alot of that depends on Sq. ft Granite is expensive first off
and there are all sorts of cabinetsn people make total custom ones or they
just have cheap screw togather ones. i would say 9,000 to 11,000 with the
granite
